What is the global concern about the increasing number of motorcycle accidents?

Research tells us that, motorcycle accidents all over the world are increasing with each passing day. When you dig deeper into common causes of motorcycle accidents, the results are always shocking and sad. That is to say, those accidents could have been avoided subject to following traffic rules and putting on safety gear.

No matter what, one of the common causes of motorcycle accidents is the lack of using safety gear, particularly when talking about the motorcycle safety helmet. In the last year, road traffic collisions of motorcyclists were as shocking as around 300, 000. When talking about deaths of motorcyclists, the deaths accounted for around a quarter of total deaths happened due to road accidents.

Low & middle-class people

Most people who ride motorcycles belong to low and middle-class people. For instance, I ride a motorcycle to go to work simply because I’m from a middle-income country where only a few low-income people use safety gear & follow traffic rules. In underdeveloped countries, violation of traffic rules is not something strange.

Go there and you will see people breaking traffic rules, and that’s the normal practice there. There is no wonder or shame in breaking traffic rules formed for their safety. Overlooking safety tools and breaking traffic rules are the two big and common causes of motorcycle accidents.

Conclusion

The increasing deaths due to motorcycle accidents are shocking as they are increasing with each passing year not only in our country but also all over the world. Accidents happen both in developing and underdeveloped countries, but deaths due to motorcycle accidents are more in low and middle-income countries as people from those countries do not follow traffic rules nor do they use safety gears that can save their lives in case of accidents. In the final analysis, the global concern is the safety of motorcyclists from low and middle-income territories in the world.
